GAME SYSTEMS
PING REPLIES
This will highly improve communication especially in solo queue.
DRAGON/BARON RESPAWN TIMERS
This is a major improvement to minimap UI as it will definitely help you strategize better, and know when you have to save your ults and when it’s better to go all in.
SCOREBOARD LOGIC
There have been changes to the scoreboard, it will now update only when an enemy has been spotted. Screen peeking is no longer a thing. This seems like a pretty huge change, especially for mobile moba players.
NEW EMOTES WHEEL
SYSTEM MESSAGE UI
They kept getting displayed mid which became irritating when it flashed during team fights. This will no longer be an issue.
DETAILED STATS
There is no lack of nerds who want even more detailed stats after every match and I am one of them. Apart from that, players are constantly trying to see ability haste in terms of cooldown reduction, the conversion is now made available.
TOWER PRIORITIZATION
Super minions > Siege minions, even for towers.
BALANCE CHANGES
- It will be slightly harder to hit Zed shurikens now, and slightly easier to dodge them.
- Master Yi will be less effective at pushing towers. this isn’t really a major nerf on his damage on champions or otherwise.
- Champions that rely on Red buff will be affected. The solo queue meta has been jungle dominant, this is a nerf to that.
- Some abilities did more burst to Rift Herald eye, than a Smite. This will surely fix that.
OTHER NOTES
Improved
- Matchmaking
- Leaderboards
- Voice chat visuals
- Friend list filters
- Social interaction UX
Rundown Video
Here are the Patch Notes from the Gaming Pharoah himself. Many thanks to Shurkou for letting us embed his video on here!
Final Thoughts
The new scoreboard logic makes vision all the more important! You can’t know how much gold the jungler has if you have no vision on him, at the same time, the enemy jungle being warded will hurt him that much more. This might put tanks into the support meta, as they can be very aggressive with their ward placement.
Along with that, the timers will surely help your strategies and resource management be more precise. I find these changes very exciting and am looking forward to playing the game in the new season! Goodluck on the Rift.
