Masters of the Hunt
This is the event that will welcome the arrival of Rengar And Kha’zix. At the completion of the event you will be able to redeem either of the two.
Nemesis Duel
This will trigger in a match if the following conditions are met.
- Rengar and Kha’zix are in opposite teams
- Both are at or above Level 13
- Neither have dealt or taken champion damage within 5 seconds
- Both are alive
- Both are at least 16 units apart
If either of the two dies withing three seconds of taking damage, the victor will get a special buff.
If Rengar wins, Rengar automatically gains Ferocity during (Ult) Thrill of the Hunt.
If Kha’Zix wins, Kha’Zix gains an extra evolution point.
This event won’t always trigger even when the conditions are met, but when it will, everyone will be notified of the same.
Buffs and Nerfs
Starting with the Noxian nerfs.
Darius
The sustain Darius had in the early game was a bit on the higher side. You could feel it in the early skirmishes. This will surely make it slightly easier to lane against him in the early stages of the game. Although make no mistake, all his dmg and utility is untouched, he will still one shot you if you eat his entire combo.
Draven
A good Draven player could almost always snowball the game out of control. In Wild Rift it is ridiculously difficult to stop any kind of snowballs, let alone a champ designed to get extra gold for every single kill. The early laning will be slightly affected by this. But Draven mains have nothing to worry about. As long as you catch your axes, you are golden.
Evelynn
The ultimate is everything for Evelynn. Her combo does a whopping 3600 dmg to a baron with her ult. It is ridiculously difficult to take any objective as long as the Evelynn was alive. With a higher ult cooldown it might mean there more opportunities for the enemy team especially in solo queue.
Galio
Artwork by Shenze Yang
I had no idea about this bug, but the winds always seemed to do an excessive amount of damage. With that fixed they gave some of it back so he does not feel completely out of place. I like the buff to his tankiness because I love the support Galio playstyle.
Katarina
This champion is an absolute mostrosity. She is one of those champions that can very unexpectedly pop off in team fights and good Katarina players can always find ways to do that every team fight. She deserves way more nerfs than these because her passive deals an excessive amount of damage at every stage of the game, but I am happy for now. This is a step in the right direction.
Leona
Her early tankiness received a decent buff. What her passive does is marks targets with sunlight. When allied champions attack those targets it deals extra damage. The sunlight does not last for long, but it’s a great tool for quick wave clear. It does seem to do very little damage even whem your team mates proc it. This buff will surely help with that.
Along with the range buff, do remember, just last patch her cooldowns were reduced and cc was buffed. These changes will surely put her in a very good spot in the coming patch.
Teemo
No change in playstyle whatsoever, just a bugfix.
Ziggs
Most Ziggs can always find a favorable trade even after making basic mistakes. The first skill poke does not go punished and he is very safe while dishing it out. This is a way to make him less oppresive in the early stages of the game. His late game provess is untouched.
Duo lane buffs
I guess this is preparing and training of these marksmen to welcome Kha’zix and Rengar.
Although these buffs seem very small at a glance, do remember this isn’t the first buffs these champions are receiving. They have been buffed multiple times before and it’s just compounding. For instance, this is the forth one for Tristana and third for Varus. Ashe has just received one as well. All of these ADCs will be very strong in this patch now, many will rise up a tier.
Ashe
I think this might just put Ashe in a solid A tier. Just one patch ago she had her first ability buffed. That means both her damage abilities have now been juiced, and she will be in a very good spot now.
Tristana
Give her time and she might reach S tier, especially for those one tricks. Barely any ADC can touch her late game and this patch just might be it. Also remember, she is good against the new predator champs because of her insanely long leap. Her turret taking potential has been buffed and her ult is now cracked out.
Varus
He is in a strong spot, many players are still sleeping on him. With this buff he will start shredding tanks and squishes alike.
Vayne
This will not only help her early game but also make her insane late game even more incredible.
Xayah
It might just seem like a .25 second increase but look at it from this perspective. Even if you buy Mercury treads now, you will still be rooted for one second! Before it was merely 0.75 or so.
Item changes
Enchanter supports take a hit with these.
Almost all enchanter supports build these. Any gold changes affect supports WAY more than other roles. This is because they are always low on gold compared to their team mates.
Conqueror
Stack duration: 8s → 6s
A slight nerf to ranged champions that abuse this.
Barrier
Cooldown: 90s → 120s
It was no secret that this spell was broken. The shield value is huge and is completely unaffected by grievous wounds. In short, it’s an absolute value. Low cd on this was one of the reasons combacks were so hard aainst fed enemies.
Cloud Dragon
Jonathon Chao revealed on twitter that this was the dragon with highest winrate.
Infernal Dragon
Infernal came in second.

Rundown Videos
Shurkou’s thoughts on the newest patch. He was a Diamond in PC League as well, so his inputs on rengar and Kha’zix and how they will change the meta are valuable. Many thanks to Shurkou for letting us embed his video on here.
Final Thoughts
Really excited for Kha’zix and Rengar release. The Noxian champs got a well deserved nerf. Although, I feel the Katarina nerf wasn’t enough but we are moving in the right direction. Akali and Diana will still rule supreme for a few patches it seems.
Goodluck on the Rift, friend!
